Synapse STEM Education respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the personal information of our subscribers and their children. This page outlines how we collect, use, and protect your information.
Information We Collect
We collect email addresses, display names, and account data needed to deliver lessons, track progress, and manage subscriptions. Payment data is handled by Stripe — we never store full card numbers on our servers. For children, we collect only the data necessary to associate a child login code with a parent account.
How We Use It
Your data powers your family's learning experience: lessons, badges, subscription status, and Sam AI interactions. We use contact information to send subscription and billing updates. We do not sell your data to third parties.
Children's Privacy (COPPA)
Synapse STEM Education complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). We do not collect personal information directly from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent. The parent account-linking process during kit setup constitutes parental consent for the child's use of the platform.
Data Security
We use industry-standard security measures including TLS encryption, access controls, and regular security reviews to protect your data. Access is restricted to authorized personnel and systems.
Data Retention
Lesson files and student work are retained for the life of an active subscription, archived after 180 days of inactivity, and permanently deleted 180 days after a subscription ends.
Your Rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your account data at any time by contacting support@synapsestemed.com. We will respond within 30 days.
